The GTC Medical Anthropology Film and Discussion Group’s Hilary Term 2019 meetings will explore how disability is portrayed in film.

The film, Examined Life (Astra Taylor, 2008, 15′), is a series of interviews with philosophers discussing the practical application of their ideas whilst walking through cities.

In this excerpt, Sanaura Taylor and Judith Butler go for a walk in San Francisco. Sanaura is an artist and disability rights activist. She uses a wheelchair. Taylor and Butler talk about the social model disability and go shopping.
