Alumni in Oxford
Green Templeton was pleased to take part in this year’s university Meeting Minds weekend from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 September.
During the day on Saturday Associate Fellow Charles Barclay engaged a packed out lecture theatre at the Mathematical Institute for a history of the Radcliffe Observatory in its 250th year. One attendee commented,
‘Charlie was absolutely brilliant – he clearly has a gift for making the complicated accessible, humorous and eye opening – I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person in the room who learned a lot.’
There was also a college grounds tour with the long-standing and extremely knowledgeable Head Gardener Michael Pirie then tea and cake.
The day for college alumni and their guests concluded with dinner. The guest speaker was Associate Fellow and Oxford University Hospitals CEO Professor Meghana Pandit.
She spoke about navigating COVID, the impact of NHS strikes, and her optimism for how the Oxford Trust will grow in the future. She also discussed on how leadership challenges and roles have changed since the pandemic.
The entire team at Green Templeton were delighted to welcome so many alumni back to college again this year. The weekend brought together 1,300 attendees with 112 speakers at 41 locations across the collegiate university.
