Associate Fellow Professor Dame Anne Marie Rafferty (DPhil History, 1985) was made a member of the House of Lords on Friday 20 December 2024 by HRH King Charles III following her nomination by the Leader of the Labour Party, Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Anne Marie was among 38 individuals conferred with new Political Peerages. She said,

‘I am thrilled and excited by this honour, as a vote of confidence in our nursing profession.’

Professor Dame Anne Marie Rafferty is an Associate Fellow at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. Dame Anne Marie is Professor of Health & Nursing Policy, former Dean of the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery & Palliative Care, King’s College, London and Past President of the Royal College of Nursing.
