Green Templeton flies #DIFFERENTEQUAL flag for Black History Month
Green Templeton College is proud to celebrate Black History Month 2021.
Our #DIFFERENTEQUAL campaign launched in December 2020 to signal the college’s commitment to inclusivity and promoting awareness of racism. As part of this campaign, we will be flying a #DIFFERENTEQUAL flag at the entrance to college throughout October.

The #DIFFERENTEQUAL flag displays the campaign imagery of two hands clasped together in a fist, symbolising a firm, uplifting stance and joint action against racism by all (no matter the shade of skin colour).
#DIFFERENTEQUAL lanyards and label pins are now available at The Lodge.
College members are also invited to explore the Maarifa collection in the library, which celebrates Black history, culture, writers and experiences. The collection of more than 100 books is an initiative spearheaded by Black Students’ Representative Josephine Agyeman-Duah.
Oxford University is also running a series of events for Black History Month. Visit the Black History Month at Oxford webpage for further information on these events and to view resources, further reading and projects.
🎓 Today we celebrated our newest graduates!
Guest speaker and alumna Kate Eisenstein (MSc History of Science, Medicine and Technology, 2010) reminded us:
‘Your biggest contribution might not stem from what you know, but from the new questions you dare to ask.’
Congratulations to all who graduated today! Welcome to the Green Templeton Alumni community! 🎉
It was wonderful to see so many alumni in Hong Kong for the inaugural dinner of the Green Templeton Hong Kong Alumni Society. A fantastic start to what promises to be a thriving community.
Enjoying a sunny autumnal walk around college ☀️🍂🍁
