Professor Xiaolan Fu named Fellow of Academy of Social Sciences
Governing Body Fellow Professor Xiaolan Fu has been named a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
Professor Fu is Professor of Technology and International Development and Founding Director of the Technology and Management Centre for Development, University of Oxford.
Her research interests include innovation, technology, industrialisation; trade, foreign direct investment and economic development; emerging Asian economies; innovation and productivity in the UK/US.
New Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences are recognised, after an independent peer review process, for the excellence and impact of their work and the wider contributions to the social sciences for public benefit.
The Academy of Social Sciences is the national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. Its mission is to promote social science in the United Kingdom for public benefit
Will Hutton, President of the Academy of Social Sciences, said: ‘As the Academy extends its outward-facing focus, engagement with all sectors of the social science community is vitally important and I very much hope to draw on the deep knowledge and expertise of our new Fellows.’

The event celebrated the college’s new legacy society and recognised those who are considering, or have chosen, to leave a gift in their will to the college.
