Nautilus Awards for College Citizenship 2022 – Nomination details

Nautilus Awards 2022 LogoNominations are now open for the Green Templeton College Nautilus Awards for College Citizenship 2022.

The awards take place each year and are awarded by Green Templeton to students who have gone beyond the call of duty and responsibility to contribute to the college.

The deadline for nominations is Monday 16 May 2022 at 12:00. The nomination form can be accessed at the bottom of this page.

About the awards

There are three categories of award:

Nautilus College Citizenship Award

Bestowed to individuals who have outstandingly contributed to improve the college environment at Green Templeton. Examples include (but are not limited to) organising events and providing outstanding support.

Nautilus Academic Award

Bestowed to individuals who have outstandingly contributed to improve the academic environment at Green Templeton College. Examples include (but are not limited to) organising academic events, providing support to the community, leading academic activities.

Nautilus Sports Award

Bestowed to individuals who have outstandingly contributed to improve the sportive environment at Green Templeton College. Examples include (but are not limited to) leading sports teams and contributing to the sports atmosphere.

Criteria for nomination

The primary criteria for the Nautilus Awards for College Citizenship is that the individual has gone beyond the call of duty and commitment in their contribution to the various aspects of Green Templeton College. Simply holding particular positions or achieving awards outside Green Templeton are not reasons alone why the individual shall be awarded a Nautilus.

Previous Nautilus awardees cannot be awarded a second Nautilus Award for College Citizenship in the same category. A student may be nominated in more than one category but may not receive more than one award in a year.

In previous years, there have been tit-for-tat nominations, when two students have nominated each other and they each have only one nomination. These cases will be recognised with the ‘TFT’ symbol in the panel table. There is nothing implicitly wrong with this, but it shall be taken into account by the Nautilus Awards for College Citizenship Committee when deliberating to ensure that these are genuine nominations.

Often there are unsung heroes that contribute significantly but do not receive publicity because they occupy less visible positions.

Number of awards

Starting in 2022 there will typically be one winner and up to two honourable mentions in each of the three categories. The Awards Committees decisions during the deliberation are final.
