Torpids 2023
Torpids 2023 was an impressive campaign for Green Templeton Boat Club with MI, MII and WII all winning Blades (bumping on all consecutive days of racing). WI stormed up into Division 1 and narrowly missed out on Blades due to the Klaxon sounding during their final race.
The club achieved a total net of 15 spots up the leader board and hold joint first place with Worcester on the most successful Torpids campaign! The college is proud of all the achievements of the club and looks forward to seeing what the Summer VIII’s campaign brings.

About Torpids
Torpids is an annual four-day regatta that this year runs from Wednesday 22 February to Saturday 22 February on the River Thames south of the city centre. Bumps races, which are a rich tradition within the university, happen twice a year – Torpids which take place in Hilary Term and Summer Eights in Trinity Term. The aim of a bumps race is not to pass the boat ahead but to catch it. Each bump earns a boat a place up the divisional ladder, with the top crew becoming the Head of the River. Teams who bump at least once during each of the four days of racing earn blades.
College members are encouraged to support the crews from Longbridges Boat House.
