Two fellows become Professors
Aaron Reeves and Sara Shaw have both received a 2022 Recognition of Distinction. This honour confers to each of them the title of Professor at the University of Oxford.
Aaron Reeves is a Professor of Sociology and Social Policy based at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention.
In reflection of his recognition Aaron said, ‘This is an huge honour and one that would not have been possible without the generous support of many mentors, colleagues, and collaborators. I am incredibly grateful for all of their guidance and encouragement and hope I can use this position to scaffold the careers of others.’
Sara Shaw is Professor of Translational Health, Policy and Practice based at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences.
Commenting on her recognition Sara said, ‘As a lone parent, who started at polytechnic, and followed an unusual career path, getting made Professor at the University of Oxford means a lot. A big thank you to friends, family and colleagues for all the support, challenge, encouragement and understanding along the way.’
