Average energy bills based on actual data usage (November 2021 to October 2022)
The table below gives an indicative sense of the potential cost of energy bills on top of rent in self-contained accommodation. The actual cost will depend on usage and the energy price at that time. Residents will be able to continue to take advantage of the university/college consortium buying power of gas and electricity by being charged below market rates.
| Location | Electricity (average monthly bill) | Gas (average monthly bill) | Combined (average monthly bill) |
|---|---|---|---|
Rewley Abbey Court flats | £65 | £78 | £143 |
2-bed houses | £58 to £101 | £130 to £160 | £189 to £350 |
3-bed houses | £77 to £139 | £109 to £255 | £196 to £349 |
13 Norham Gardens | £48 to £74 | £100 to £206 | £175 to £263 |
The ranges of combined bills indicate the total cost for consumption at the bottom and top of the range once both electricity and gas were taken into account at one type of self-contained accommodation.
