College welcome events
We organise orientation and welcome events in college for all new students, including online for distance learning and part-time students and some earlier events for students on September course start dates. We will send reminders and notifications of event updates throughout the summer through our Offer Holder email newsletters. Please see below for dates that have been confirmed so far. Your department will be in touch separately with their timetable of orientation events. Please refer to your course start date in the first offer letter provided by your department administrator for travel purposes; this is the date by which you are required to be in Oxford if you are a full-time student.
College Academic Office induction
This is a presentation from Green Templeton’s Senior Tutor, Dr Alison Stenton and members of the college’s Academic Office team with comprehensive information about Academic, Welfare and Financial support at the college. Attending a college induction is mandatory and we will run the same event several times for time and space purposes inviting you to the one closest to your programme start date and with your programme cohort.
College life fairs
These are drop-in events to meet key staff and teams across the college including Accommodation, Events, Catering, Library, Finance, Development, Academic Initiatives, Junior Deans, IT, Communications, the Graduate Common Room (GCR) and some clubs and societies. Learn more about what the college can offer you and gain further insight into how as a college we operate.
Green Templeton Welcome Reception
A chance to dress up and join us at one of the college’s Welcome Receptions. This is a formal evening reception with drinks and canapés in the college marquee. Meet Green Templeton’s Principal, Sir Michael Dixon, members of staff, fellows, and the Graduate Common Room (GCR) and your fellow Green Templeton students. Following the reception, the College bar will be open for you to continue meeting, mixing and socialising if you wish. These will take place during 0th week (Freshers’ week) beginning Monday 4 October.
