Craig Decker
MSc Modelling for Global Health, 2023
I am an epidemiologist committed to understanding the intricate patterns of disease transmission and improving public health outcomes. I come from the states of Washington and Utah where I studied Molecular Biology and Statistics at BYU.
Before coming to Oxford, I researched influenza, COVID-19, and bacteriophage using comparative genomics. I also worked with the Broad Institute to bring pandemic education to hundreds of local students.
I applied to the Nuffield Department of Medicine to develop skills used to impact health policy’s efficacy within overlooked populations. I see my future self using modeling tools to inform health officials and policymakers.
During my spare time, I enjoy training for and completing triathlons with a particular preference for biking. I also love traveling and practicing my Spanish.
