Dr Dorcas Muchiri

Dr Dorcas MuchiriDorcus is a Kenyan born and trained clinician, graduated top of her class in her Masters of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Nairobi. She is an international health care professional, having worked in the largest public maternity and gynaecology units as well as private health sectors in Kenya and more recently in the NHS in the United Kingdom, as well as a private fertility specialist. She has been involved in women’s health research and has presented her work at international conferences and is actively involved in sharing clinical knowledge to health care professionals across the globe.

Dorcus has had a career experience that has led her to seek the connection between research and the delivery of health care for women and girls. She is interested in digital technologies in health and is particularly keen to work in global spaces to promote the uptake of women’s health research findings. She is passionate about the ownership by women in their own health and therefore keen to see patient involvement in accessing better health services globally. She looks forward to scaling into a DPhil in Translational Health Sciences.

She is a bibliophile who enjoys local and international travels and keeps fit with weightlifting and calisthenics in her leisure time.
