Evelyn studied an Integrated Master’s in Natural Sciences at the University of Nottingham and always had an interest in studying and practising medicine. She went on to work for the government through the Civil Service Science and Engineering Fast Stream, completing postings at multiple government departments and the Wellcome Trust, but felt that she was too far from the real science and missed the practical side of things.

Evelyn then joined the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health as a research assistant in infectious diseases, and applied to medical school. Evelyn is grateful for the Entry-Level Medicine Bursary she received, which she says has made it easier to commit fully to her studies and medical research. A keen snowboarder, she hopes to combine her love of the mountains with her medical training.
