Jane Pok-jing Ho

DPhil Education
2021

Education Dept Portraits Jane Ho 1080x848I received my BA in English Studies and BEd in English Language Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015. After graduating, I worked as a secondary school teacher for four years, during which I also completed an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction.

In 2019, I went on to the Stanford Graduate School of Education to pursue an MA in International Education Policy Analysis, which led me into research in educational assessment. My DPhil thesis explores validity and trust in university entrance examinations and how these shape the ways exam results are understood and used.

Alongside my doctoral work, I have been working as a consultant at the Education University of Hong Kong, following a year there as a project officer. My work is primarily in sociolinguistics and education, contributing to the development and writing of research for both academic and public audiences.

Outside academia, I enjoy travelling, reading, and collecting stamps. I have been a Chelsea supporter since my first match at Stamford Bridge in 2013. KTBFFH!

If you would like to chat about college life or studying education at Oxford, please feel free to get in touch. I would be very happy to share my experience.
