Jordan Rothschild
DPhil Sociology, 2025
Clarendon Scholarship
Jordan Rothschild is originally from the United States where he studied his undergraduate in history and political science before working for the German Foreign Ministry in the U.S. He then went on to pursue his Master’s degree in Sociology at Trinity College before joining Green Templeton College to begin his DPhil in Sociology. His DPhil is supported by a Clarendon-GTC matched scholarship and he is now researching religious conversion in Germany, with a focus on conversion to Judaism. As someone with a Jewish background and German nationality, he draws on both personal and historical contexts to explore how people experience religious conversion within societies marked by complex histories.
