Kåre Holm Thomsen

Master of Public Policy, 2022

I am an experienced policy and economics journalist from Denmark. In that role I have analyzed public policy for years. Now, I would like to move to the other side of the table and help create policy instead. I study the MPP at the Blavatnik School of Government to be better equipped for that endeavor.

My primary policy interests concern public economics, central banking, and energy policy. In the past years, I have worked as a reporter at Deadline, the flagship current affairs show of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, and Weekendavisen, a weekly akin to The New Yorker with a pan-scandinavian readership. I have also had a brief stint at Die Tageszeitung, a newspaper in Germany.

I completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from the University of Copenhagen, where I was also a teaching assistant. I speak Danish, English and German.
