Krittika RayMSc Economics for Development
2021

I am an aspiring microeconomist, with particular interests in development, political economy, the environment, and labour. I have a BSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from LSE, and have worked there for two years as a pre-doctoral research assistant before coming to Oxford.

Having grown up in Kolkata, India, and lived in London for the past few years, I’m a big city person through and through, and am very excited for the change of scene that Oxford brings. I am particularly excited to immerse myself in the lovely academic atmosphere that GTC and Oxford promise.

During my degree I hope to gain a deeper understanding of development economics as the ever-evolving and self-critiquing subject it is, and I hope to take that knowledge forward with me to pursue doctoral studies soon after.

Apart from my academic interests, I love playing the piano, learning new languages (if only very poorly), cooking and trying out as many kinds of cuisines as I can, and occasionally attempting to resuscitate a long-lost voracious reading habit.
