Layla Lavallee
DPhil Primary Health Care, 2023
Originally from Vancouver, Canada I have been working and studying in the UK for the past 25 years. With a background in nursing, midwifery, public health and trial management, I am currently undertaking a DPhil in Primary Care as an NIHR doctoral fellow.
My research explores the postnatal experiences of under-served women affected by hypertensive disease in pregnancy (HDP). The findings will be used to co-produce recommendations for research and practice aimed at reducing the longer-term cardiovascular disease risks associated with HDP and addressing the complex factors that drive inequalities within this context.
When not working I’m kept busy with family life, which includes two teenage children, catching up with friends and traveling when I can.
