Ludo van Hillegondsberg

Ludo van Hillegondsberg is a medical doctor and clinical research fellow with the Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Centre (OPDC) and the Oxford-GSK Institute of Molecular and Computational Medicine (IMCM).
Ludo attained his medical degree in 2016 at Stellenbosch University. During his subsequent MSc in Clinical Neurosciences at University College London he developed an interested in neurodegenerative disease and neurogenetics. In May 2023 he joined the OPDC and IMCM as a clinical research fellow and started his DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences in September 2023. His current research – utilising the deeply phenotyped OPDC Discovery cohort of manifest and prodromal PD – focuses on integrating clinical data with genetic and proteomic analysis to identify candidate biomarkers and biochemical characteristics that underpin cluster assignment and disease heterogeneity.
