Pelumi Olugbile
Pelumi Olugbile is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAN, CITN) with over 15 years of experience in Public Financial Management. Throughout her career, she has strategically driven fiscal accountability, overseen disbursements for high-impact projects, and championed financial reforms.
With a first degree in Economics and an MBA, Pelumi is passionate about leveraging governance and policy to ensure value for money in government spending and to contribute to national development. She joins the Master of Public Policy programme at the Blavatnik School of Government to deepen her understanding and apply her finance expertise to leadership and policymaking both within and beyond Africa.
As a development enthusiast committed to equitable growth, she co-founded Grassroots Initiative for Positive Socioeconomic Development (GIPSED), an NGO focused on rural development. Over the past 11 years, GIPSED has awarded scholarships to more than 300 underserved pupils and students, employed 19 ad-hoc teachers across 14 public schools, provided revolving business loans to over 200 rural women, and offered free legal services — all aimed at improving the lives of the underserved people at the grassroots.
Outside her professional and academic pursuits, Pelumi is a proud mother, who enjoys singing and engaging in impactful conversations on leadership and development.
