Ramsha Fatima

Fatima Rameen – 2
DPhil Education, 2025
Green Templeton Oxford Clarendon Sir David Watson Scholarship
Fatima is an education and social policy specialist in her first year of her DPhil in Education. She has worked in improving learning and gender equity in and beyond education for over seven years, which started from a volunteer-led summer programme for at risk youth in Lahore. Before Oxford, she was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, where she worked on education and social policy across Pakistan, the Philippines, and the US, collaborating with The Asia Foundation, Save the Children, and the UKRI.
Working in policy exposed her to more questions than answers, which led her to Oxford, where she met her supervisor, whose work is now helping her explore answers to her own research questions. Her research examines how female teachers’ moral and professional identities shape girls’ agency and aspirations. Fatima first met her supervisor while presenting research on gender minorities in Pakistan at Oxford, prior to submitting her doctoral application.
