Dr Samia, MBBS, MD is an interventional cardiologist with dedicated interest in acute coronary syndrome, coronary intervention and heart failure. While pursuing her specialisation in Cardiology, she completed her thesis on novel risk factor of acute MI in young patients. Thereafter, she undertook training in advanced interventional cardiology. She has a keen interest in cardiovascular clinical trials, population health and outcome research with a focus on acute coronary syndrome and its risk factors, especially in young population.
Besides her professional activities, she has been volunteering as cardiology consultant at HAEFA (Health and Education for All), a non-profit US-based organisation that was nominated for the Nobel peace prize in 2020. These compassionate activities are devoted to improve the cardiovascular health and to control the non-communicable diseases (NCD) in underprivileged population of the country, especially among Rohingya refugees. Her other significant work includes developing a national training program on Covid-19 in collaboration with Brown University (USA) and HAEFA. She is passionate about reducing the global cardiovascular disease burden through meaningful clinical trials.
Her personal interests are traveling, reading and hosting programme.
