Sophia Mai Howard Andresen, an Oxford-TrygFonden Scholar, earned her Master of Science in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation with Distinction from Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. Her research is dedicated to identifying strategies for reducing educational inequalities. Her thesis, “The Long-Term Effectiveness of Targeted School-Based Interventions in Closing Learning Gaps in OECD Countries: A Systematic Review and Robust Variance Estimation Meta-Analysis,” focused on evaluating the sustained impact of educational interventions.

Sophia has a deep interest in using data and evidence-based research to inform education policy. She has served as an education policy and statistics advisor at the Ministry of Education and Research as well as the Office of National Statistics in Norway. Previously, she worked in the data and research unit of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights.
