Takumi Futamori
Master of Public Policy, 2021
Before working, I majored in Geophysics at Tokyo University and went on to obtain a master’s degree in Geology, also from Tokyo University.
After graduation, I entered the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare in Japan as a technical official, pursuing my interest in Japan’s labour issue. Throughout my career, I have gained experience working on various policies, ranging from coordinating an Award Ceremony, which was held to honour companies that enhance productivity and cultivate human resources in Japan, to make regulations for working severe environment in Japan.
The aim of coming to Oxford is to gain knowledge and skills to govern society better. In the future, I hope to work on changing stagnated employment practices to foster a more dynamic labour market in Japan. I know that MPP at Oxford is the best in the world to achieve my goal.
