The Emerging Markets Symposium
The Emerging Markets Symposium (EMS) promotes solutions to high priority problems of human welfare in emerging market countries (EMCs) by building consensus among opinion leaders and supporting their efforts to implement solutions to these problems in their respective spheres of influence.
The EMS is an academic initiative of Green Templeton College. Its value added is measured by the impact of its recommendations on public, private and voluntary sector policies and practices that affect human welfare in emerging markets.
The distinctive identity of the EMS is shaped by the issues it covers and how it covers them. Symposia to date have focused on: Health and Healthcare (2009); Urbanisation, Health and Human Security (2011), Tertiary Education (2012) and Gender Inequality (2013).
The EMS is funded by generous grants from the C&C Alpha Group and contributions from Green Templeton College.
