Caroline Butler
Caroline Butler is a Governing Body Fellow and Barclay Fellow of Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. Caroline is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee and was previously an Associate Fellow.
Caroline is the Director and Chief Investment Officer of Walcot Partners Ltd. The firm is authorised and regulated by the FCA and provides investment advisory services dedicated to selected high net worth families and university endowments. Caroline advises on asset allocation, ESG strategies, manager selection, management of multi-asset class portfolios, next generation investment education and family philanthropy.
Trained as an economist, Caroline worked at N.M.Rothschild and S.G.Warburg, where she was the first woman to be elected to the bank’s Board. She joined Goldman Sachs in New York and later founded Auction Forum USA, an art and publishing consultancy. She returned to banking as Head of Private Wealth Management at Deutsche Bank and then as Director of multi family office Lord North Street which she left to found Walcot Partners in 2012.
She is currently also a Trustee of The Pilgrim Trust and Chair of their Finance Committee, a Trustee and Director of the Grimsthorpe and Drummond Castle Trust, a Member of the Investment Committee of Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, an Advisory Board Member of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions’ Forum and since 2006 a Member of the Kilfinan Group. She was Chair of the China Children & Teenagers’ Fund Advisory Council UK (2006-2016) and a Trustee of the Art Fund (2009-2019).
