Dr Neo Tapela

Dr Neo Tapela is an Associate Fellow at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford.

Neo is Chief Scientific Officer (VP) at ICHOM. She is an internal medicine physician, epidemiologist and healthcare services researcher from Botswana with over a decade’s experience investigating the determinants of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and solutions for equitable service delivery in sub-Saharan Africa. Her work is driven by a social justice mission, and she has hands-on program leadership experience in the public and non-profit sectors where she has achieved institutional policy change.

Neo served as the college’s Equality and Diversity Champion and was chair of the Green Templeton Black Lives Matter Taskforce from 2020 to 2021. The Taskforce led to a number of initiatives including the #DIFFERENTEQUAL campaign and the creation of the Black Students’ Society.
