Policy and Practice

Green Templeton College’s convening power enables us to bring together a wide range of national and international stakeholders from across academia, policy and practice.

We are a genuinely interdisciplinary community, linking scholarship with practice, policy and public understanding, and making the most of our strengths in human welfare and social well-being.

To realise this potential, we run academic programmes:

  • to provide a forum for exploration around the interstices of discipline
  • to maximise the academic energies released across conventional intellectual divides
  • to bring practitioners and academics together
  • to test the practical application of theory and deepen engagement with key areas of public policy.

“The Oxford Praxis Forum is dedicated to all those researchers who have wished that practitioners and policy makers would take more notice of their work, and all those practitioners and policy makers who have wondered when researchers would produce something that was worth taking notice of.”

“I found the symposium fascinating…a terrific group of people and I learned a lot. For those coming from a [particular] perspective, it is essential that we understand the bigger picture within which we are working.”
