About the speakers
Dr Reshania Naidoo is the Population Health Lead for the Ernst & Young (EY) Digital Health Excellence Centre covering Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, where she works at the intersection of industry, academia and government to develop innovative and data-driven health solutions to improve population health outcomes. She led the formation of the EY-Oxford Health Analytics consortium, which recently completed a landmark evaluation of the UK’S COVID-19 testing policies, that contributed to the national COVID inquiry and now supports international pandemic preparedness strategies for global funders and governments worldwide. Her work has covered global health policy and advisory to over 20 countries, focused on the enablement of national health system resilience through the deployment of novel technologies, population health data analytics & multidisciplinary partnerships. Also a physician by background, she trained as a medical doctor in general practice and acute medicine in South Africa, with a special interest HIV and TB, later moving to the NHS in South-East London and Oxford.
Dr Claire Keene is a South African clinician with an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine and a DPhil from the University of Oxford. She has experience leading a large HIV and tuberculosis project for Médecins Sans Frontières, as well as the project’s COVID-19 response, which included setting up the first COVID-19 field hospital in South Africa. Her research explores people’s engagement with HIV care, predominantly in a South African public sector context, including understanding patterns of engagement over time, qualitatively exploring people’s experiences and perceptions of services, and testing the implementation of differentiated models of service delivery to support people who find engagement challenging. She is active in Masters postgraduate teaching and supervision in the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
About the event
While much work is undertaken to innovate and identify the best intervention or tool to improve services in healthcare, many projects don’t succeed because of failure to manage the process of change and an inability to overcome resistance to change. Change management is the practice and process of supporting people to achieve a desired outcome, with the goal of ensuring that the change is successful and sustained in the long-term. This can be applied to the individual, project and organisational level before, during and after the change occurs. In this interactive session, the speakers will focus on explaining steps for change and tools to drive adoption such as ADKAR and Lewin’s force field analysis. There will be a facilitated discussion through which attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their real-world challenges and share their reflections.
