Leadership often requires us to respond to uncertainty in ways that help our teams to work effectively and to achieve our goals for our patients. In this interactive session we will introduce some tools to help you consciously choose how to lead and support your teams during uncertainty.
We will explore:
- Dysfunctional momentum
- Communication recalibration
- Team resilience and shared adversity
- Value-based decision-making
- Prioritisation
About the speakers
Oscar Lyons is currently Programme Director for the Oxford University MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership. He is also Module Lead (Knowledge into Action) for the Oxford University MSc in Evidence Based Healthcare, Tutor for the Oxford University MBA, and a research lead for the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM) and the Medical Mediation Foundation (MMF).
Oscar has led leadership development programmes for doctors, allied health professionals and researchers across a range of NHS organisations and universities. His teaching and research focus on supporting real-world impact from leadership development in healthcare through impact-focused evaluation.
Mary Fenwick is an executive teams and leadership coach, who also writes the main advice column for Psychologies magazine. A former director of the Whitehall and Industry Group, she qualified as a coach in 2009. Mary is a co-director of leadership programmes designed specifically for healthcare professionals. These are in the top 1% of evaluated courses globally.

The Management in Medicine Programme at Green Templeton aims to develop management and leadership skills for health and care systems in early career professionals. It is open to medical students, doctors in training, postgraduate students and others with an interest in healthcare management.
