Private sector meets academia: The two-sided coin of working in global child health.

  • Professor Manu Vatish (Deputy Director for Maternal and Child Health Discovery at Gates Foundation)

Collaboration is essential to address emerging challenges in Global Child Health. Green Templeton College and the European Society for Paediatric Research are pleased to host this meeting, which aims to:

  • Further promote collaboration between commercial and non-commercial actors in Global Child Health.
  • Understand synergies between industry and academia and align their efforts to improve global health.
  • Create networking opportunities between different sectors: industry, philanthropy and academia.
  • Encourage dialogue between global health experts and early career researchers.

Plenary sessions and working groups will explore the approaches needed for Global Child Health.

Poster competition

Early career researchers are invited to submit a poster on the theme of ‘Challenges and opportunities for research in Global Child Health’. A focus on the wider conference theme of ‘the private sector meets academia’ is welcome but not compulsory. There will be a prize of £100 for the winning poster; entries should be sent in abstract form to Gracia Fellmeth following these guidelines, before the closing date of Monday 4 March 2024.
