Congratulations Xiaolan Fu

Xiaolan Fu Profile PicSenior Research Fellow Professor Xiaolan Fu has been appointed to United Nations’ High-Level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs.

The High-Level Advisory Board is tasked with offering insights on frontier issues, emerging issues and issues related to countries in special situations, in the broad context of the world economic and social trends.

It also provides suggestions for the research and policy analysis work of UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, including recommending topics for the Department’s flagship publications, such as the World Economic Situation and Prospects and the World Social Report.

Board members are also responsible for strengthening the linkages with the global economic and social policy research community, including through participation in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs Global Policy Dialogue Series.

Xiaolan said of her appointment,

‘I am deeply honoured to join the United Nations’ High-Level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs. This appointment is both a privilege and a call to action – to provide strategic insights on frontier and emerging issues, and to support the Department of Economic and Social Affairs’ critical research and policy analysis.

Professor Xiaolan Fu is a Senior Research Fellow, Green Templeton College and Professor of Technology and International Development and Founding Director of the Technology and Management Centre for Development, University of Oxford.
