New Professor

Lisa Hinton has been recognised in the 2026 Recognition of Distinction Exercise. This honour confers on her the title of full Professor at the University of Oxford.

Lisa Hinton is Professor of Applied Social Health Sciences in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and a Senior Research Fellow at Green Templeton College. Her research focuses on using patient and staff experiences to improve healthcare, with a current focus on maternity care (antenatal and postnatal) and equity.

Reflecting on her recognition, Lisa said:

‘I’m greatly honoured to have been conferred the title of Professor of Applied Social Health Sciences. No research journey is a solo endeavour, and I am immensely grateful for the support and encouragement I have had along the way from family, colleagues and students.

‘My long-standing association with Green Templeton College and its fellows has been a rich and inspiring part of the journey and I am excited for the next chapter.’
