Photography Competition 2020 – Winners revealed

Thank you to all who have entered this year’s photography competition on the theme of ‘selfie-isolation’.

This year’s competition aims to find the most striking original photograph or photographs that tells a story of experiencing and adapting to the global response to the coronavirus pandemic, as well as to bring our community together to enjoy an excellent range of photographs.

The Judge’s Choice and Audience Favourite winners have now been chosen. It was not easy given the rich variety of entries, interesting interpretation of the theme, and the unusual circumstances for this year’s competition.

Judge’s Choice

The judge’s choice was chosen by a judging panel consisting of Green Templeton Artist-in-Residence Weimin He, Research Fellow Dr Charles Roehr, GCR member Davide Bilardi and digital communications officer Georgia Melodie Hole. They selected winners based on the entries that, in their opinion, best illustrates the theme of the competition, considering composition, technical ability, originality, and relevance to the theme.

Due to such a great range of single entries, diptychs and triptych entries, we have two joint winners of the Judge’s Choice, each receiving £75 and with their photographs displayed online and in upcoming Green Templeton publications. Congratulations to:

Judge’s favourite single entry: Lore Purroy Sanchez: Hoping to fly. “These paper boats were in the bridge in the direction to Port Meadow, during the pandemic.”
