Professor Robert Walker looks at global allocation of COVID-19 vaccine in new paper
Emeritus Fellow Professor Robert Walker has written a paper discussing how to distribute a COVID-19 vaccine across the world. Professor Walker is currently a Professor in the China Academy of Social Management and the School of Sociology at Beijing Normal University.
The paper, titled ‘Who should receive the COVID-19 vaccine first?’ has been published by the Oxford Prospects and Global Development Institute (OPGDI), affiliated with Regent’s Park College at the University of Oxford.
The OPGDI focuses on the development of China-UK relations. It is an interdisciplinary body encouraging collaboration between researchers, practitioners and policy-makers across China and the UK.
The paper continues a conversation initiated during the first of OPGDI’s series of online ‘In Conversations’. Under the guidance of Dr Myra Blyth (Regent’s Park College), Professor Cécile Fabre (All Souls College) and Robert Walker discussed the Fair Priority Model for allocating vaccines against COVID-19 published recently in the US journal Nature.

The college hosted some very exciting guests last week! @gtc_gcr invited some Alpacas (and a Llama!) to come in for a student wellness event. They were indeed a welcome distraction for all!
A huge congratulations to everyone from @greentempletonboatclub who took part in Summer Eights 2026.
The club fielded an impressive five crews across four days of racing on the Isis, demonstrating commitment, teamwork and determination in one of Oxford`s most iconic rowing events.
