Toral Gathani awarded Hunterian Professorship
Senior Research Fellow Dr Toral Gathani has been awarded a prestigious Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for her work on the associations of ethnicity and breast cancer. She will give her Hunterian Lecture entitled ‘Ethnicity and Breast Cancer in the UK’ at the UK Association of Breast Surgery annual conference to be held in Liverpool in May 2022.
The Hunterian Lectures were founded under the Hunterian Trust, by which the Hunterian Collection was delivered to the Company of Surgeons at the end of the 19th Century. They continue to be highly regarded and prestigious awards within the field of surgery and are awarded annually in stiff competition.
Toral Gathani is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in Clinical Epidemiology at the Cancer Epidemiology Unit of the Nuffield Department of Population Health, and a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
