Beatrice Branciamore
MSc Social Data Science, 2026
Beatrice is interested in how AI influences complex sociopolitical and economic systems, particularly how it shapes information flows and human behaviour, alongside political power and geopolitical security.
She holds a degree in Economics, Management and Computer Science from Bocconi University, where her thesis focused on variational methods for Bayesian hierarchical models to predict electoral outcomes. Before Oxford, she led Bocconi’s undergraduate AI research group BAINSA and was selected to for the NEXT Next Young Talents programme of the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
Her research interests span questions such as the role of AI systems in great-power conflict and ideology, the concentration of political and economic power, and how to intervene to mitigate emerging risks. She is also curious about the philosophical questions AI raises about agency, knowledge, collective intelligence and power.
