During her time at RSIS, she contributed to the planning of the International Conference on Cohesive Societies 2025 and the second edition of the Southeast Asian Social Cohesion Radar. Her work there also explored religious nationalism, interreligious relations, intercultural dialogue, religious environmental movements, and social cohesion and public health, amongst numerous other topics. Prior to her foray into research, she was an educator serving students with special needs.
Claribel holds a BSocSci in Sociology and English Language from the National University of Singapore and an MSc in Asian Studies from RSIS, NTU, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class. Drawing upon her interdisciplinary academic training, her intellectual interests sit at the intersection of sociology, anthropology, religious studies, history, and linguistics.
When she is not immersed in research, you will likely find her with her nose buried in a book, singing with community choirs, learning new languages, teaching, volunteering or setting off on long hikes in search of new adventures.
