A look back at a busy year of activities and events enabled by the Annual Fund
Through the generosity of donors to Green Templeton, the Annual Fund provides grants for academic-related activities (for example, student academic events and initiatives, including professional development) and support for college life (for example, sports, societies and improvements to college facilities).

There have been a host of great activities enabled by donations this year; including everything from the Human Welfare Conference to Yoga on the Lawn. Here is just a snapshot of some of the activities from the past few months:

The 11th Annual Human Welfare Conference took place on 17 and 18 May 2019. The theme was Innovate: Balancing Interests in Resource-Constrained Settings. The conference focused on solutions being developed at various scales to improve human wellbeing in areas as diverse as poverty alleviation, education, health, and social welfare. The 12th Annual Human Welfare Conference is scheduled to take place in May 2020.

Later in May 2019, Ronan Llyr competed in the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania with support from the Annual Fund. The Penn Relays are the oldest and largest track and field meeting in the United States, hosted annually since 1895, with teams from Oxford University competing since 1914. Ronan battled travel logistics, jet-lag and competing in tornado weather warning conditions, but had an incredible experience at the event watched by 50,000 spectators.

The Green Templeton Global Health and Care Systems Society is a student academic project supported by the Annual Fund that is convening a series of interesting discussions about global health, healthcare policy, and health equity. Highlights have included film screenings, a book club, and talks by visiting health professionals and academics.
The welcoming environment for families of students is being enhanced this year thanks to donations. These are enabling a termly reception in the Observatory Tower for student partners and spouses and a Saturday Breakfast Club, a family-friendly event held in college.
It has been a great year of events, activities and societies supported by the Annual Fund, and the generosity of donors enables academic and college life at Green Templeton to continue to thrive. Hereβs to a 2020 of more exciting activities!
