Nautilus Awards 2019 winners announced

Denise Lievesley with the Nautilus Awards 2019 winners at the Green Templeton garden party on 29 June 2019

The winners of 2019’s Nautilus Awards were celebrated at Green Templeton’s annual garden party on Saturday 29 June.

The Nautilus Awards recognise Green Templeton students who have gone beyond the call of duty to make an outstanding contribution to improving the college environment.

They are awarded across three categories: academic, citizenship and sports.

Principal Denise Lievesley told guests at the garden party: “What is common to the winning nominees is the way they have contributed to college – their passion, commitment, often a supportive and collaborative approach, stepping up to take on tasks when others can’t.

“It is often the many small things they do that make a difference; caring for others in a myriad of ways to help foster the friendly, inclusive and egalitarian community that we strive for here at Green Templeton.”

Denise added: “These awards serve as a useful reminder of the breadth of talent, excellence and determination that we encounter throughout our graduate student body and I hope that everyone who was nominated, whether they won or not, feels justly proud of their achievements.”

There were 15 Nautilus Awards winners in 2019 and ten of the winners attended the garden party to accept their prizes in person.

Each winner received ยฃ100, a piece of solid silver Nautilus jewellery, a certificate, and will have their name inscribed on the Nautilus Board in the Stables Bar.

He has introduced touch rugby matches and enabled Green Templeton rugby players to join the St Peter’s team, got the college doing Zumba, helped us in the gym, and formed a Green Templeton team for the Oxford Town and Gown 10k. He also represented us on the Oxford University Rugby Team.
