Welcome to new Junior Deans
Amy Booth (DPhil Translational Health Sciences, 2021) and Brendon Tankwa (DPhil Geography and the Environment, 2022) joined Lisha Jeena (DPhil Clinical Medicine, 2020) as Junior Deans at the start of 2023.
The Junior Deans are the first point of contact for students experiencing issues that affect their welfare, no matter how big or small they are. They support students in emergencies, and also with general well-being. They are available to listen over a coffee, connect individuals when they need support, and enforce community standards when actions are having a negative impact.
They work together with a range of others within the college to assist students with issues that are affecting their health and welfare.
On taking up their roles, Amy said,
‘Green Templeton College is a wonderful, supportive community to be part of during one’s Oxford journey.
I look forward to working with the GTC staff and other Junior Deans to support student welfare so that all college members are able to thrive during their time here.’
‘I’m a 1st year DPhil in Geography and the Environment (with an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the same department) and a Zimbabwean who’s lived and worked in three continents.
When I’m not on school/work mode I can be found playing or watching tennis, football, or squash. I’m keen to provide support to GTC students to ensure that they flourish during their time here. Open to engaging on all aspects of student life from handling the transition into Oxford, sports and societies, or simply picking a favourite study spot.’
The Junior Dean mobile is +44 (0)7868 185963. Please note that the Junior Deans are only available during the day time during the vacation periods (outside of weeks 0-10).
