Green Templeton is pleased to recognise a number of fellows who have joined the college over recent months at the start of the new academic year. They all join the college’s 300-strong fellowship across a range of subject areas.

Fadi Issa Profile Pic Smiling In Open Neck Light Shirt And Dark JacketProfessor Fadi Issa has become a Governing Body Fellow. He is Chair of Transplantation, University of Oxford and a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Burns Surgeon.

Fadi leads a research team dedicated to developing new cell therapies that could make organ transplants safer and longer lasting, with the ultimate goal of reducing the need for lifelong medication. Beyond his research and clinical work, Fadi helps shape the direction of the field through his leadership roles within international scientific societies.

Mitali Mukherjee Profile Pic 2025Mitali Mukherjee became a Senior Fellow following her promotion to become Director of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.

Mitali is a political economy journalist with more than two decades of experience in TV, print and digital journalism. Over the course of her journalistic career, Mitali has been Consulting Business Editor at The Wire and Mint. Prior to that she was Markets Editor at CNBC TV 18 and Prime Time Anchor at TV Today and Doordarshan. She has been a Fellow at The Observer Research Foundation (ORF) where she led Gender Initiatives for the organisation.

Eero Vaara Profile Pic In Shirt And SweaterProfessor Eero Vaara joined as a Senior Research Fellow. He is Professor in Organisations and Impact at Saïd Business School.

His research focuses on strategic and institutional change that he examines primarily from discursive and historical perspectives. This includes strategy process and practice studies, research on radical change such as M&A, and work on identity and legitimation.He has throughout his career actively collaborated with companies and other organisations in various roles (e.g. consultant and board member) fostering reciprocal learning and long-term engagement with issues that matter.

Michelle Degli Esposti Profile Pic SmilingDr Michelle Degli Esposti joined as a Research Fellow. She is Associate Professor at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention.

Michelle is a quantitative researcher who studies the epidemiology of social problems. Specifically, her research focuses on documenting and understanding population differences in interpersonal violence and mental health. Before joining Oxford, she was an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Firearm Injury and Prevention at the University of Michigan, United States, and a Senior Research Associate at DOVE Research Centre at Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil.

Lennard Lee Profile Pic in shirt and jacket smilingDr Lennard Lee joined as a Research Fellow. He is Associate Professor at the Nuffield Department of Medicine and Chief Medical Officer of the Clinic at the Ellison Institute of Technology.

Lennard is a medical cancer doctor focused on using technology and data to deliver flagship national health programmes. He works across oncology, artificial intelligence, and population health, with a strong interest in innovation that brings real-world impact to patients. His work includes the Department of Health lateral flow diagnostic moonshot, the NHS-Galleri trial to detect 50 types of cancer, and the United Kingdom’s cancer vaccine advance.

Henrique Laurino Dos Santos Profile Pic In Jacket And TieDr Henrique Laurino dos Santos joined as a Research Fellow. He is an Associate Professor at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

His research focuses on issues of data privacy, over-advertising, and consumer-base valuation. His tools of choice are Bayesian statistics and stochastic processes. Henrique has also engaged in using machine learning to graph shapes of stories and figure out what makes movies popular and TV shows bingeable.

Trent Allen profile pic In Red High Vis JacketDr Trent Allen joined as a Doll Fellow. He is a Specialty Registrar in Emergency Medicine in the Thames Valley deanery.

Trent was a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Emergency Medicine and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow. Previous projects included developing an inter-professional simulation programme for medical and pharmacy students and a virtual ward round to widen access to medicine and provide work experience during the pandemic. He has a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.

Emily Morris Profile Pic Outside In Green JacketDr Emily Morris became a Joan and Richard Doll Fellow. She is an Internal Medicine Trainee at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with clinical and academic interests in peri-operative medicine and cardiology.

An alumna of Green Templeton, Emily studied medicine at the University of Oxford and previously held an Academic Foundation Programme post in the Thames Valley.

Maire BrankinDr Máire Brankin became an Associate Fellow. She is a social anthropologist, and an experienced executive coach.

Máire is interested in organisational change, equal opportunities and the culture of organisations and passionate about improving the outlook and performance of individuals, teams and businesses. She has been a long-term supporter of the college, especially through her connection with the Management in Medicine programme. She was a founding Steering Group member and still presents regularly at seminars on personal qualities, managing services and people, and working with teams.

Meera Joshi Profile Pic Black And WhiteDr Meera Joshi has become an Associate Fellow. She is a medical doctor, artist and psychological trauma specialist.

Meera’s passion is blending an evidence-based neuroscientific approach to healthcare and trauma with the deep wisdom of body-mind traditions. She uses her combined experience as a medical doctor, trauma specialist and teacher of somatic practices in her work. She has worked for the last decade in the primary care sector in preventative medicine. Her approach to health is focused on the biological, psychological and social wellbeing of both the individual and societies.

Christiaan De Koning Profile Pic Smiling In Shirt And JacketDr Christiaan de Koning joined as an Associate Fellow. Fascinated by how science and technology shape society, he supports science entrepreneurs and advises institutions on commercialising research for impact.

Christiaan is engaged with the Oxford Health Innovation Forum, a new university-wide initiative that builds on Green Templeton’s strong legacy in medicine, medical sciences, business, and management. The forum serves as a platform through which the college fosters entrepreneurship and drives dialogue on innovation in medical research, healthcare delivery, and global health.

Jim Mcmanus Profile Pic In Jacket And TieProfessor Jim McManus became an Associate Fellow. He is National Director of Health and Wellbeing for Public Health Wales and Deputy Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for the UK Prevention Research Partnership.

Jim was previously Director of Public Health for Hertfordshire and President of the Association of Directors of Public Health. He seeks to work across disciplines and identify real-world solutions to problems which benefit from different disciplines adding to and critiquing each other. He has worked in the public, commercial and not for profit sectors.

Sahana Rao Profile Pic In Front Of Branding Including The Word Child HealthProfessor Sahana Rao became an Associate Fellow. She is the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education and Consultant Paediatrician at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Sahana advocates nationally and internationally for advancing child health and patient safety. She is passionate about Quality Improvement and is the founder and lead of national award-winning program which empowers multi-professional staff to deliver continuous, sustained patient-centred improvement.

Alex Shee Profile PicAlex Shee is a Visiting Research Fellow and Visiting Policy Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute. His background as a former lawyer, venture capital investor, and leader at three prominent AI companies positions him at the intersection of law, business, and technology.

Currently serving as the co-chair of the Global Partnership on AI’s Future of Work working group, Alex plays supports global initiatives focused on the development of responsible AI. His leadership in this capacity has facilitated collaborative efforts worldwide, emphasising the importance of ethical considerations in the deployment of AI technologies.
