A warm welcome to all new and returning Green Templeton students, including those who are resident in Oxford for the first time!
As the new term begins, it’s been wonderful seeing so many people around our beautiful college grounds once again, and we’re looking forward to welcoming many more of you in Oxford over the coming days and weeks.

Things to do at Green Templeton
We’ve got plenty of sports clubs, groups and societies here at Green Templeton and new members are always welcome! We’ve listed a few of them on this page but head over to our College Life section for full details on what’s on offer.
Allotment Club
Make friends and enjoy the great Oxford outdoors by getting involved with our Allotment Club! The club meets throughout the year to cultivate an allotment plot in Old Marston to grow vegetables, encourage wildlife and pollinators, and provide exercise. Contact allotment@gtc.ox.ac.uk to find out more!

Boat Club
Are you a keen rower or just keen to try rowing out? The Green Templeton Boat Club is looking for new members. No previous experience is required but you must be able to swim! See the Boat Club webpages for full information

Recently refurbished facilities on the main site for all college members
Men’s Football Club
‘The Snakes’ were founded in 2022 by Patrick Oliver (Clinical Medicine, 2022). After an outstanding first season, they were promoted to Division 2 of the MCR college league. The club continues to have a great friendly atmosphere and are looking forward to another successful year! The captain of a joint Green Templeton and Osler House team for 2024/25 is Harry Crook. Music
We’ve got lots of options for music lovers including the Green Templeton College Big Band and the Community Choir.

We also have a dedicated music practice space called the Rotunda. Find out more about music at Green Templeton.
Netball Club
The GTC netball team plays in the College mixed netball competition, with games throughout Michaelmas on Thursday afternoons. We welcome everyone, regardless of playing experience or general sporting expertise, and we would love to have you join us! Associate members are also more than welcome to play. If you’re interested in getting involved, please email isobel.howard@gtc.ox.ac.uk to be added to the WhatsApp group.
Richard Doll Society
The medical society of Green Templeton is run for and by the clinical students with others often welcome too, putting on a broad range of events throughout the year including talks, dinners and an annual conference. Its primary purpose is building a strong community among college medics and offering further training opportunities through workshops and seminars.
Squash Club
Interested in playing the healthiest sport in the world (Forbes magazine) at your friendly college club? At Squash at Green Templeton, we welcome players of all abilities, even if you’ve never played before! Do take advantage of the on-site squash facilities in GTC, including a heated court, rackets, professional coaching, social events, a ladder and more. The college team competes in the university league, and, if there is sufficient interest, we can enter a 2nd team too. Come along to a coaching session, run every Tuesday and Thursday during term time for, beginners (17:30 to 18:30), and intermediate or advanced (18:30 to 19:30) players – look out for our weekly emails so you can join these!
