Food and Meal Bookings
Lunches
Lunch is served between 12:00 and 13:45 for dining in or takeaway from Monday to Friday throughout the year, except during the Easter weekend, a two-week closure in August and two weeks over Christmas. You will need to book into lunch before 10:00 on the day
you wish to eat.
A coffee machine is available in the common room and Stables Bar Gallery for self-service hot drinks in line with the common room opening hours
Thursday formal dinners
Formal dinners are held every Thursday, except for brief closure periods over Christmas, Easter and August. Pre-dinner drinks are served in the Common Room at 19:00 with the call to dinner at 19:30. A pre-dinner reception of sparkling wine or elderflower as well as tea, coffee and chocolates are included in your 3-course dining ticket. Both the pre-dinner reception and the after-dinner coffee served in the Common Room on the first floor of the Observatory. Bookings open up to three weeks in advance and close at 12:00, the Monday before the sitting.
The dress code is smart business attire.
Members are welcome to bring one guest to Thursday formals.
Thursday formals are also open to our Alumni community (see Booking meals without Single Sign On).

Special Guest Night Formal Dinners
Twice termly the college hosts special guest nights for the college community where current members can bring guests (up to three per member) to enjoy a 4-course formal evening. With a specially designed menu served in our magnificent dining room in the heart of the Observatory, tickets include a drinks reception at the beginning of the evening followed by coffee and chocolates in the common room. Menus will feature local, seasonal produce wherever possible and are a chance for our chefs to flex their creative muscles.Pre-dinner drinks are served in the Common Room at 19:00 with the call to dinner at 19:30. Bookings open up to three weeks in advance and close at 12:00, the Monday before the sitting.
The dress code is Black Tie or Traditional Dress.

Policy on bringing children to formal dinners
Informal suppers
Informal suppers happen on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 19:30, following the lunch format of collecting meals from the servery and no assigned seating. The dress code is casual.
Students are encouraged to bring guests including children, under 12’s receive 50% subsidy on all 2-course meals.
Students can select a 1- or 2-course option for supper.
Booking Meals without Single Sign On (SSO)
If you are a member category that does not have a single sign on issued by the university or college (Associate Member, Common Room Members, Alumni, Non-Green Templeton Resident etc.), please fill in either the lunch or dinner form as required. Please note dinner bookings are not available to Non-Green Templeton. Dinner bookings are not confirmed until you have received a confirmation email from the front of house team as we will need to check your access permissions, tickets available and guest allowances before arranging a pre-payment to confirm your booking.
If you have issues accessing the form, please contact the front of house team. For lunches, you will be asked to pay for your meal by credit/debit card on collection. Please note we have no cash facilities in the dining room. For dinners, full payment is taken in advance by credit/debit card over the phone.
